I was over the moon to hear from some of you this week - it really makes my day to receive messages or any work or pictures you have done. If you would like to be part of 'Classmate Catch Up' next week, ask a parent to send your news, work or pictures to cmonahan@newtownprimary.ie
Elliot and his mom got in touch to tell me that poor Elliot fell out of a tree and broke his wrist! They had a very stressful night going to the hospital to get it seen to but Elliot was cheered up when the hospital gave him a big Easter Egg before he left. Elliot broke his writing wrist which means he has to do lots of talking when doing his work instead - luckily our class mascot Fanta has been on hand to help him out - I'm not sure if Fanta is very good at cursive writing though.....purrrrrhaps he would just write in pawprints!

Brody and his mum got in touch to share some of Brody's work which I will be sending to the school work wall. He did a particularly great acrostic name poem - I would love to hear some of the rest of the class's poems.
Brody has been helping out lots at home and even got involved in some DIY. Did you know DIY means 'do it yourself'? I think Brody looks very professional and I was impressed with his safety glasses!

Cian and his mum also got in touch. Cian sent me some beautiful artwork he did which will also go on the school work wall, but also shared some exciting...and very cute news - he had gotten a puppy! The Foleys got Hughie the lurcher puppy on March 28th. Lurcher dogs are known for being kind, calm, gentle and affectionate. They like to play ball games with children and are very curious and like to be involved in things.
Cian said that having a puppy was more hard work than he expected but I think you'll agree they look very happy together in the photo! Hughie had to get some injections before he could go out on any walks to keep him and other doggies safe, but now he can trot along with Cian on their walks and play lots of fetch. Cian says this photo was taken after a particularly active game of fetch - I wonder who gave up first?!
I hope Hughie Foley is very happy in his new home... and learns to toilet train quickly!
