Páistí, tá sé dochreidte go bhfuil na laethanta saoire anseo!
Children!, its unbelievable that the holidays are nearly here!
Can you believe it!!!
What an eventful year. 3rd class is definitely going to be a memorable year for you all! First you had a change of teacher, then school closed up, initially for 2 weeks and then for remainder of the school year and then I came back to school , but you didn't even see me!!...what an upside down year.....But you know what? You should all be very proud of yourselves for being able to manage all that upheaval and cope with such strange times and uncertainty. That's not always easy and I'm sure there may have been days for you or your family that were difficult. But isn't it nice to know that those days pass too, and brighter days are always ahead. The skills that you have gained during this experience will be useful in your future. I am very proud of you all.
So for this final week, we are going to take some time to reflect on the year that was 2019/2020.
Can you remember this time last year, when you were finishing up 2nd class? or September when you first came in to 3rd class. What has changed since then?
I bet you are an inch or two taller? Has your hair changed in any way?
Are there things you liked then that you don't like now? Maybe you follow a different sports team or like to listen to different music now?
Have you learned any new skill? or some new information? perhaps you have a new hobby?
What have you gotten better at? or still need help with? Have you achieved anything this year? What were your high points? or memories that stand out?
What are you thankful for in your life?
Have a look at the wheel below that I started of my memories and have a go at making one of your own where you can fill it in with any thoughts that arise when you ask yourself some of the questions from above. By the end, it will be filled with some memories or achievements from the school year.
You can draw pictures or write words, or both. When finished, attach some ribbon or wool and hang it in your room.
I would love to post these up on the blog if anyone would like to send me a picture of their one.

I will be posting up some nice activities or tasks for you to do through Aladdin this week. And keep an eye on the blog as I will update it during the week too.
For now I am going to leave you with a clip of a song we used to sing at the beginning of the year which reminds me of my time with you. Enjoy listening to it.

Some lovely summer rain falling today. Are you going to line up some nice things to do at home and enjoy being indoors or put on the wellies and splash in some puddles??? I think there will be some baking in my day today, and maybe a walk in the woods later. I love the smell of the earth in the woods after the rain and how lush all the greenery is.....the plants truly love a good shower of rain.
