Good Morning Rang a Cúig,
I hope you all had a lovely weekend, I know some of your parents collected your schoolbooks and belongings yesterday. Don't worry if you didn't get yours yet we can put them away for you until September.
Your Write a Book projects were also finally returned and some of you will have got them in your baskets yesterday, we will put the rest away safely until September.

Thank you to Adam for sending in some captions for Indie's photos on Friday. I think Indie must have sent a secret message to Adam because he seemed to know exactly what she was thinking. Great job Adam on reading Indie's mind. Check out Adam's "Indie mind-reading" skills here:
Now, Rang a Cúig, this week is Sports Week at Home and you might have seen from Aladdin that we will be sending you some challenges and activities that you can try at home. So, in the spirit of Sports Week, I thought I would try some of the challenges too so keep an eye on the Blog for some of my many sporting talents! Here's my effort at today's Target Challenge (Watch out Olympics 2021!):
For those of you who are currently rolling around the floor laughing at my attempts to kick a ball, I would like to point out that I was a basketball and then volleyball player for many years. And in both those sports we strike the ball with our hands not our feet, notice how I hit the target first time when I used my hands!!! I would also like to point out that my four-legged assistant added an extra challenge between her barking and running in the way. I think I did pretty well considering the added challenges I faced, I would love to hear how you get on with today's tasks. Feel free to send in your photos or videos to (lcheevers@newtownprimary.ie or c19parentsupport@newtownprimary.ie).
I hope you have fun with Sports Week, I know it's not the same as doing it together in school, but I know I had fun trying the Target Challenge because as I was doing it I was thinking that some of you would also be doing it and maybe laughing at your attempts just like I laughed at myself. We can try and make the most of it and get our families involved too, let's make it a fun Sports Week for everyone.
I look forward to hearing how you're getting on and keep an eye on the Blog, I will post up some more of my efforts as the week goes on.
Take Care and Stay Safe Rang a Cúig,
Ms Cheevers
