Congratulations to our 6th Class students who organised an extremely successful Carnival Day on Tuesday 21st June. The Carnival was held on the school pitch and a number of fun activities were organised. Each class was given a time to attend and every student was asked to make a donation of €2. Activities on the day included carnival games such as hoopla, bobbing for apples, knock ‘em down and pin the tail on the donkey; Sponge Throwing; Mini Euros 2016; Novelty Races such as Three-legged race, Spud on Spoon, Sack Race, Obstacle Race; A Nail Bar. Students were also given a chance to guess how many jellies were in the jar – congratulations to Luke Larkin Greene in Junior Infants and Nicole King in 4th Class who had the closest guesses.
Everyone had a super time at the carnival and had great fun trying out all the different games and activities.
6th Class reported that it was a fun but tiring day and were surprised at how much work it took to run an event like this.
They were thrilled to discover at the end of it all that they had raised an amazing €510 which will be used to buy an indoor trampoline for our Centre for Children with Autism.
