Congratulations, you have done it!
It was lovely seeing you all at your Graduation Ceremony on Friday.
You have finished 6th class. And in the middle of a pandemic! I am so happy for you and your families; you have worked so hard to get to this moment.
This is not the way you wanted to finish but you will have great stories to tell for years to come.
It has been a very strange time and I am so sorry you had to miss out on so many events;
being the oldest in the school
school tour
leading the groups on sports day
Confirmation
wearing your 6th class hoodies around the school
signing t shirts
Teachers vs 6th class match on Sports Day
Graduation ceremony.
It is so disappointing that you do not have the chance to say goodbye face to face after 8 years to your friends and teachers and that we, the teachers are disappointed we will not get to say goodbye to you and give you the send-off you deserve.
You might be feeling nervous, excited scared or you may not know how to feel about moving to Secondary School. Now is the time to move on. You are ready!
You will make loads of new friends, hold on to the old ones.
You are saying goodbye to;
Junior School
Senior School
pitch
classrooms
yard.
And the staff of Newtownmountkennedy Primary School.
You have so much too look forward to, so many new opportunities;
new buildings
new uniform
new friends
new subjects
new sports
trips
new clubs
new teachers.
You will become friends with people who have the same interests. You will have more freedom and more responsibility, look out for each other. This is such an exciting time. You will grow and flourish as teenagers. Find out what you like doing and do more of it.
Be kind to one another. Never forget the power of a smile and the impact of an act of kindness.
I hope you look back with good memories.
Be proud of yourself, I am very proud of you.
You have so many exciting adventures ahead and I cannot wait to hear about what you are doing.
I hope you continue to work hard to achieve your dreams and hopes.
We will always be here for you.
Bainigí taitneamh as an Samhradh. Is páistí iontacha sibh.
Maith sibh ar fad.
Ms Hurley
