In November the children learned all about owls. They had a role-play area and various stations based on the story 'Owl Babies'! They really enjoyed pretending to be the characters from the story as they build their nest and learned about life in the forest in our role-play area. They also enjoyed building nests for the owls, creating owls/nests/foxes from Play-doh, learning the different parts of an owl, investigating owl pellets, doing cutting and sticking activities, as well as Owl paint prints! We also had a special visit from 5 of our owl friends... the children were so excited to meet the owls and one of them even flew over our heads! To see some photos please go to Ms. Corcoran's November blog (my camera skills weren't up to the mark! :-) )
During October the children did great work on learning their 'Phase 2' sounds and starting to blend (putting sounds together to read words). They also had great fun with a new Aistear role-play area and activities based on the story 'Room on the Broom'. Sorry I forget to take pictures during October but I do have some of our last day before the Halloween hols whent he children dressed up. We hope you enjoy them! (Please note: a few of the children's faces are blurred out because parents have not given permission for their children to be put on the blog. Please chat to me if you've any questions about this.) Welcome to our class blog! In September we had great fun learning about Goldilocks and the Three Bears, as well as doing work on Humpty Dumpty too! We hope you enjoy our photos; we played in the Bears' House, made our own decorations for the house, used our Play-Doh to make food for the bears, built houses with Lego, made porridge with the sand, wrote apology letters from Goldilocks and did cutting and sticking. |
