June is usually a busy month filled with activities and finishing up different topics. This June was no different, we had fun playing at the seaside and in the ice cream van in Aistear and then our beach was invaded by pirates! We also were lucky enough to have fun school events on this month with a visit from Alpacas and the ice cream van! We also had time for Sports Day and Dance with Zoe!
Dance with Zoe
Due to this year being so different, we were unable to hold our usual whole school sports day, but we managed to do a smaller version! So we had four stations: Fun and run GAA, Relays , Art and athletic Circuits. The students enjoyed being outside all day and running around playing games. We also got to enjoy our lunch outdoors too!
As we were unable to get out on a school tour this year, we had a lovely visit from K2Alpacas! Four gorgeous alpacas arrived to our school on a Thursday morning with their bright colourful necklaces. We were able to get up close and personal with them and pet them gently on their backs. We also learned a lot from their carers, like to never stand behind them as they may kick you, and not to pet their heads. The students loved meeting Tom and Barry!
Best of luck!
I have loved having you all in my class this year, and our zooms together during online learning. You have all made my days brighter with your smiles and funny stories and jokes and I wish you all the best of luck in Senior Infants!
I hope you all have a lovely summer holidays!
