Teachers are organising school tours for all our classes. You will receive information from the class teacher regarding tour destination, arrangements, cost etc. All children are encouraged to take part in the school tour as an important part of their education both from the opportunity to visit places of historical and national interest as well as the important occasion for social interaction with classmates. Good behaviour is expected of all pupils who go on school tours so that a pleasant, safe tour is enjoyed by everyone. Class teachers will make the final decisions regarding whether or not all children in a class deserve to go on the tour.
Newtownmountkennedy Primary School is under the patronage of the Catholic Archbishop of Dublin.
It was established as a co-educational school following the amalgamation of a boys( St. Joesph's NS) and girls (St. Brigid's NS) school on the current campus.
An autism class was opened in 1999. Our School now has 4 autism classes which continues to operate very successfully as an integrated part of our primary school community.
The school also participates in the Department of Education's Band 2 DEIS programme.
