![]() Dia Dhaoibh Senior Infants!! 😄 Lá Fheile Bríde sona daoibh Happy St. Brigids day and Happy 1st of February. I hope you had a lovely weekend. Well done on a brilliant January of online learning. We’ve had a busy few weeks looking at an aimsir in Irish, weather experiments in SESE and how to record the weather in our maths data lessons. I hope you all had fun with our phonics drum kit, it’s brilliant hearing about your love of reading! I love seeing your fantastic handwriting and pictures of your amazing work. We explored the Arctic this week in the story ‘The Girl who went to the Arctic’ and you did amazing arctic patterns. For International Lego day I asked you to make the letter E, a creation out of only 18 pieces, an Arctic creation or a free creation and you all made fantastic creations! Conor even kindly shared a video on how to create the letter E using Lego. It was great to see you trying some challenges to practice your fine motor skills with Klara going a step further and practicing with homemade sushi! We had brilliant fun on our zoom calls this week – I loved hearing all of your news, especially Neala’s about her birthday and her Squishmallow all the way from Germany. Emily L was so excited to share that she has lost more front teeth! To help with our éadaí lessons as gaeilge we had a dress up zoom where I got to pretend that I was on a sun holiday and where we had lots of princesses, an Iron man, a jester, cosy onesies and other brilliant, favourite outfits. We even had a visit from Olaf! Well done to Conor for making the masks to his jester costume! I hope that you all receive a special piece of post this week! I hope you enjoy your little treat, some colouring sheets and stickers.
I am so proud of all the effort you are putting into our online learning, maith sibh go léir! Slán go fóill 💕😄 Ms. Dempsey Dia Dhaoibh Senior Infants 😃 I hope you are all well! Well done on all of the super work and fun you’ve had during our online learning. You are all superstars! 😃 Last week we started some dance videos for PE, we took inspiration from Artist of the Week - Wolf Khan and made some colourful forest pictures, we continued our English, Irish and Maths lessons and enjoyed all the songs on Bua na Cainte. We had great stories all about the weather and the clothes you need for different types of weather, you had a look through old photos of you and your family to see if you can tell the weather by the clothes in the photo. On our Zoom calls Grúpa Buí and Grúpa Glas treated us to Show and Tell, where we saw brilliant Teddies, a fairy and unicorn garden, a Nintendo switch and a new puppy! Emily even treated us to a magnificent Magic Show! I loved saying hello to the pets of Senior Infants, hello to Joey, Sam and Loki 🐶 I have loved seeing you all every morning on our Zoom calls and hearing your news. If you can’t make it to our calls every day, that is ok! I will have a timetable showing what we will aim to do each day at our Zoom calls so you can see what activities there are to look forward to. Wednesday 20th: Morning prayer, weather, News, Bubble dance game as a class. Thursday 21st: Morning prayer, weather, News, Grúpa Gorm Show & Tell. Friday 22nd: Morning prayer, weather, News, Gaeilge games and songs or continuation of Grúpa Gorms Show & Tell if needed. Well done again, I am so proud of you all! 🌟 Slán go fóill Ms. Dempsey ![]() Dia Dhaoibh Senior Infants!! Happy New Year, I hope you had a brilliant Christmas! I would have loved to hear all about your Christmas in person at school but in order to keep everyone safe, we will be learning online for the time being. I will post work for you every day on Google Classroom and at 10 o’clock every day, we will have a class video call. I cannot wait to hear your news, do show and tell, and play some games as a class on these calls. I’ll be able to answer any questions you might have about the work I set during our video calls. Please do not worry if you are find learning online hard, like in school all I ask is you try your best 😃 You are all brilliant boys and girls and are great at all of your work, be sure to go easy on your Moms and Dads, or whoever is helping you with your schoolwork. You might have to show them how we do our schoolwork, you can be the teachers! If your parents would like to ask me anything or send me any of your work they can send it to ndempsey@newtownprimary.ie. I cannot wait to see you all, I hope you and your families are keeping safe and well. Keep washing your hands and make sure you get to play outside (within your 5km). I have attached links of some websites you might want to use during home learning.
