I hope you all had a lovely weekend. I'm sure you're all waiting with bated breath to hear about Indie's and my walking exploits over the weekend. Well..technically it was a draw, although I think Indie was the really winner. On Saturday, we set out for what I thought would be a short walk, but in fact the clever pup that she is led me all the way to the BEACH! As you know the beach is almost 3km from my home, but she clearly knew the way and insisted that's where we were going. She pulled me along the whole way and if I tried to turn around, she refused! I think she is the real brains of our partnership! And guess what, she got her blanket back that evening. Saturday really was a great day for Indie.
Can you guess from my photos what else I was up to over the weekend?

Can you see the stone in Indie's mouth? She picked that up as we left the beach, I think she wondered if she could bring it home and start making her own beach in our garden. Thankfully she decided it wasn't worth the effort and dropped it along the way.
Did you get up to anything exciting over the weekend? Feel free to let me know what you're up to and to send me in some photos. I would love to hear what you are up to or to hear your news. Indie seems to be hogging this blog the whole time, let's share the limelight. Just remember, if you are sending photos of yourself, you will need to get a parent to send them saying that we have permission to post your photo on the blog. If it is just a photo of an activity or artwork, then you can send it yourself.
I hope you are all enjoying doing your Inventions project, I included a couple of Inventions based reading passages on Aladdin today to give you some inspiration. Just to let you know also there is a new page on the school website for the extra activities teachers usually set in their blog. You can see them in the Covid-19 Extra Activities section http://www.newtownprimary.ie/extra-activities
Don't worry, I might still suggest a piece of artwork, a brain teaser, a maths problem or another activity that you might do but most of the challenges and tasks will now be in this section instead so remember to take a look at them.
Did any of you try that brainteaser I set on Friday? Do you want the answer?

Did any of you figure it out? I'll be honest, I wasn't able to work it out.
I hope you all got the work I set on Aladdin this morning. We are moving on to length in maths today. Hopefully you have a ruler or measuring tape at home, but if not I've given some suggestions of how you could make your own ruler. Let me know if you're having any difficulties with this or with any of the work set.
Have a lovely day Rang a Cúig,
Take Care and Stay Safe,
Ms Cheevers
