Good morning Rang a Cúig,
Thankfully the weather picked up yesterday afternoon, the wind died down and the sun managed to break through the clouds. Indie and I got out for our walk in the afternoon, I hope you managed to get some fresh air too. Did any of you do a random act of kindness for anyone? Lauren told me about an act of kindness she and her friend did. She sent her friend some donuts and her friend sent her a puzzle, some sweets and some water guns which she had great fun with. What a lovely story.
I received an email from Emily and her mum yesterday, Emily received this very special message from a zookeeper in Dublin Zoo.

Wasn't that a kind thing for Gerry to do? I know Emily was really excited to get it and wanted to share it with all of you. It's lovely to see people doing such kind things for others.
What about the words from Biodiversity? Kacey found 100 words altogether, well done Kacey.
Were any of you inspired by the poems on the website? Remember, you can do the challenges any time you like, they're not just for the day they are posted on the Blog.
Did you know today is International Nurses Day? A famous artist in England called Banksy left this picture he called "Game Changer" in a hospital in Southampton in England as his way of saying thanks to Nurses. He left a note with it saying "Thanks for all you're doing. I hope this brightens up the place a bit, even if it's only black and white." I love how he has left the superheroes like Batman and Spiderman in the basket because the child is playing with his new superhero, a Nurse.

I'm sure many of you have someone in your family who is a nurse, or know someone who is a nurse and we are so thankful for all the work they do always but especially at the moment. Nurses are working so incredibly hard to keep us all safe at the moment. So today's tasks and challenges are going to acknowledge Nurses and the hard work they do every day.
Gratitude Challenge: Write a letter, a postcard, a poem, a message or draw a picture thanking a Nurse you know or all the Nurses in our country. Send it to them, send it to one of the hospitals or send it to me to post on the website. If you send it to a hospital remember to put your name and school on it so they know who it is from.
Learn Something New: Research Florence Nightingale? Who was she? When was she alive? What is she famous for? Who is Banksy? What makes him particularly interesting as an artist?
Word Challenge: How many words can you make from FLORENCE NIGHTINGALE?
Don't forget to get out for some fresh air again today, maybe you could find some dandelions, close your eyes, make a wish and blow the seeds into the air. It's such a simple but fun and relaxing thing to do.
Have a great day Rang a Cúig and remember to take some time out to thank the Nurses we know, the Nurses in our Country and all over the world.
Take Care and Stay Safe,
Ms Cheevers
