Congratulations to our 35 6th Class students who graduated from our school this week. A lovely graduation ceremony was held last Thursday, 23rd June, where our graduating students all received their Academic Medal & Graduation Certificate as well as their class photo, yearbook and a CD of photos of the many different activities and outings they did during the year. They were also asked to pick up and bring home a stone gathered during the Sponsored Walk, the stones all had words written on them such as Laugh, Love, Smile, Believe, Achieve, Dream, Inspire. It was a lovely spiritual, meaningful and memorable occasion held in the Senior School Hall and led by our school chaplain Fr Smith. The students were accompanied by a large number of family and friends who joined many staff members in celebrating their wonderful achievements and successful Primary School education as it came to a close. The end of year awards were also presented on the night with a number of students getting some well deserved awards.
6th Class Award Winners for 2016 were:
Student of the Year (Girl) – Yasmin Phibbs O’Connor
Student of the Year (Boy) – Ethan Mackey
Principal’s Award – Cora Heffernan & Alyssia Larkin

Endeavour Award – Amber Doyle
Positivity Award – Harry Griffiths, Ciara Doyle, Danish Healy
Resilience Award – Tadhg Ó Midheach

A number of rose bushes were also presented to those families for whom their time in our school has come to an end. We thank all these families for their support and encouragement of the school over many years.
6th Class finished in the school on Thursday, 30th June, following a whole school prayer service in St Joseph’s Church. A blessing was read out to the 6th class students and they were applauded as they left the church and their final primary school assembly.
We would like to wish all our 6th class students every success in secondary school and hope that they continue to be the fun-loving, hard-working, good-natured young people that we have seen them become. We look forward to hearing of all the wonderful achievements they enjoy in the years to come.
