Good Morning 6th class.
Hope you all got a chance to get outdoors into the beautiful sunshine last week. Saturday, a glorious sunny day, should have been 1st Communion Day in our school, and I was just thinking how disappointing it must be knowing that your Confirmation will not be happening. It is a big day for you pupils, your families, me as your teacher and for the whole school. Hopefully, it will at some stage in the future and we can celebrate together so please keep watching the daily and Sunday masses so that you will be prepared. Covid 19 will pass and life will get back to normal again.
Thank you to those of you who submitted your projects on Native American Indians, I was very impressed at the work you put into it. Well done! If you have not completed it or even if you have not started but are still interested please go ahead, I will still love to see it.
Did any of you hear about the Native American Choctaw People on the news last week. Check it out the fascinating facts that show how this tribe helped the Irish people during the Famine and, in return how the Irish people did the same for the Choctaw people during this pandemic. An amazing story that brings history alive and is also a story about great kindness and generosity. You could include this in your project. If you are not able to do it, do not worry. You can still read about it in your spare time.
I hope you will have a good week. Do not forget to use the strategies I gave you last week if you find yourself getting angry or frustrated. Also, take a break each day and meditate, encourage your brothers and sisters to do so too.
If the weather is poor, try the exercises we did in class, don’t forget the eyes!
