Dear Rang a Sé,
I hope you are keeping well and staying safe during our school closure. I know it is a strange and confusing time. I also know it is very hard for you to stay at home all the time and to be away from your friends. I just wanted to check in with you and let you know that I am thinking about you and hoping that you are ‘being the best you can be’ at home.
Keep up your reading, especially Greta’s Story, and do lots of jobs around the house to be helpful. Get as much exercise as you can (at home) and don’t spend too much time on your tablets or phones!
I received some excellent projects on St. Patrick over the past few weeks. Well done to those who emailed them to me- the projects were well researched, interesting and nicely presented. If anyone else has projects or work they would like to send me please email it to cmaguire@newtownprimary.ie. I am unable to send emails to your school email addresses but I can comment on the work you share with me. So, after you have sent me some work, click back into your Google Doc after a few days and you will be able to see my reply. Remember, to use Google Docs, login to drive.google.com with your newtownprimary login details, then click on ‘+ New’ at the top left to create a new document.
I will be sending home some school work for you to do at home after Easter. If you are finding it hard, let someone know. They can contact me and I will try my very best to help you. I hope to see some of your lovely artwork on the ‘Our Work’ page of our school website. I also look forward to reading your news and stories in the ‘Newsletter’ page on the website. Perhaps you would be interested in writing a book review for the Newsletter page. It might give some of your classmates an idea of books they would like, and you could find suggestions here of books that may interest you too. Sharing your work and news on the website is a nice way of keeping in touch with each other while the school remains closed. If you would like to share your work on the ‘Our Work’ or ‘Newsletter’ page, please email it to c19parentsupport@newtownprimary.ie.
We don’t know yet when we will be back to school but I can’t wait to see you all again. In the meantime, let’s all do our bit to stay safe and healthy – Wash your hands, stay at home and remember the rules of social distancing.
Best Wishes
Ms. Maguire
