Ciara in Senior Infants and Jack in 3rd class have been growing sunflower seeds, minding snails and even made a bug hotel. Now they have plants growing in their wellies that they have outgrown. Wow!
The snails are ones they are watching, feeding and minding! They have painted their shells so they can identify them. Lots of research gone into their wellbeing!
Sam (5th Class) & Louis (3rd Class) have been doing lots of different activities with their big brother Ben.
Isabelle in Junior Infants has been busy baking and going on lots of walks. She did a sponsored walk with her cousin, got to see tadpoles and raised €315 for Barnardos. Fantastic. Well done!
From the 27th of April until the 3rd of May, Newtownmountkennedy P.S. took part in an Active HOME Week challenge.
Pupils were active for 60 minutes and completed 4 different types of exercise every day. Each day of Active HOME Week the children picked two new activities to try.
The challenge was all about getting up, moving as much as possible and having fun.
You can see in the pictures below that Josh from 2nd class, Adam from 5th class and Dylan from 6th class did a great job completing the challenge and had brilliant ideas of ways to stay active. Well done to all the children who participated in Active HOME Week!
Aaron in 6th Class completed a wonderful project on Native Americans. He tells us all about their clothes, food and homes.
Jade in 1st Class has been busy working on her projects on minibeasts and pandas as well as creating lovely pictures of ice-cream treats. Yum yum!
Aoibhe in 2nd class made a wish jar full of wishes to go to the playground, visit her friends and make a trip to Mc Donalds!
Sandy is missing going into Newtown Primary every Tuesday to listen to the wonderful children reading. She is trying her best at home learning and keeping her listening ears turned on !
