Hi 1st Class!
I hope you are keeping well and staying safe!
Can you believe it's June already!?
I saw some more great work being done this week, and I'm glad some of you enjoyed the at home experiments!
This week the whole school is focusing on Wellbeing! Exploring ways we can look after ourselves and take care of our health, mentally and physically. I know in our class we are very good at our meditations, our mindfulness colouring and yoga!
Also as it is June now and we are coming towards the end of the school year, our classwork will start to ease off and I encourage you to take part in the extra activities, and themed weekly activities instead! On Aladdin I have included some activities in Literacy and SPHE that will link in with our theme of wellbeing! There's a lovely rock art activity that most classes will be taking part in! Feel free to send me pictures of your rock art also before you place it back out into nature for someone else to find!
As a whole school we are also creating a collaborative piece of art- ‘Le chéile agus óna chéile’ (together and apart) Art Project. I will be taking part in this and I would love for you guys to also take part in, and hopefully it will be displayed in the community. For more information click on the title of the project or go to the home page of the school website.
Last week was an eventful one for my family, as my dog Jake had a little accident in our garden and hurt his paw. He had to get stitches and now has to wear the 'Cone of shame'! Everyone is feeling very sorry for him so he is getting lots of love and attention and special treatment!
I hope that you were able to enjoy some of the wonderful sunshine we have been having lately! Don't forget to be sun safe and wear sun cream and hats to keep you protected.
Stay safe,
Ms Doyle
