Good morning,
I hope everybody had an enjoyable weekend and made the best of the sunshine while staying safe.
This week I want you to focus on Biodiversity again for any extra challenges you want to do. Your parents can keep an eye on the 'Outdoor activities' section of the school website under the 'Covid 19' tab for some easy things to do while you are out and about. You can send pictures or drawings of your findings to c19@parentsupport@newtownprimary.ie with the subject 'outdoor activities'.

Now for classmate catch up:
A special mention to Seb who had his birthday on Saturday. He told me he had plans to have a BBQ. I hope he had a brilliant day with his family in the sunshine. Seb has been working really hard at home and I was especially impressed with his art. He made a fantastic park that reminds me of the People's Park in Dun Laoghaire - check it out below. He also did a great job clouring in the picture of Jesus blessing the bread -well done Seb!
I hope Noelle and Molly enjoyed their birthdays too!

Joshua and his mum sent me on lots of his work and I am so impressed. Josh has been making a huge effort to stay healthy during this time doing lots of exercise outdoors (where he sometimes meets classmates and even this new hairy friend!). He is trying to eat his 5-a-day too which is so important. He did loads of activities during 'Active Home week' and will be receiving his certificate today - well done Josh! He has also done great Gaeilge work and great stories - one of which is on the school work wall. Keep up the great work Josh!
I was also delighted to hear from Rhea and her mum this week. Rhea is doing lots of cycling and has bumped into some of her classmates who live nearby when out exercising near her house. I am sure you were excited to see each other! Rhea has also been doing great work at home - she drew and coloured this lovely picture for me and has been keeping up her handwriting - isn't it lovely?! Some of her work will be on the school work wall too - well done Rhea!
Have a lovely week everybody - if you need help with work or want to contact me to share news and work or just say hello you can email me with help from a parent: cmonahan@newtownprimary.ie
