Morning Everybody - I hope you enjoyed the weekend even though it was a lot colder than we got used to - I hope the sunshine comes back to us soon! Even though the weather wasn't great I spent a lot of the weekend outside. On Saturday it was my nephew's 3rd birthday so we called out to their garden for some cake. We also helped my parents set up a new bird feeder in their garden. My dad loves to watch all the different types of birds come and go, although their dog Rudy goes berserk when she spots them - I think she gets jealous!
My husband got a surfboard for his birthday in March so we took it out for a test drive on Sunday. When we got home we had some hot chocolate to warm up and watched a movie. When the sun came out we went out to play badminton - I'm now winning 11 games to 7 but the games are very close, he could make a comeback at any time....or so he thinks!
How were your weekends? Did you get up to anything special?
Phase 2 of the country's roadmap starts today which means we can travel within Wicklow or up to 20km from our homes and can meet groups of up to 6 people from outside our homes. Shops will also be opening again too. Remember to still maintain social distancing as much as possible and to continue washing your hands when you get home. It's exciting to get more freedom, we just have to remember to stay safe.
I went into the school last week to clean our classroom - it was very strange being there without you all. It really made me miss our class and all the fun we had together! It took me ages to take down all of our planets from the roof and to empty out all our homemade instruments of rice, beans and pasta so I could recycle the bottles!
This Week Is Virtual School Tour Week. That means that instead of SESE or Literacy you will have the chance to explore something virtually (this means online). To make it easier for families who have more than one child in the school the teachers have agreed a schedule which I have written in each day on Aladdin. If you have multiple devices or if you don't have a sibling in the school there are lots of other virtual tours on the 'help my kid learn' section of the website which you can choose to do instead. If you choose something different just remember to write some sentences or draw a picture related to what you saw or learned. If you fancy a break from the screens there is a 'screen free school tour' on the 'outdoor activities' section of the website. You might even like to make your own tour in your local area - if you do this be sure to send me pictures of your route!
As always, just do what you can - no stressing or worry about work!
I hope you all have a great week and I look forward to hearing from you all soon!
