The children have been learning about simple pulley machines in science. They have been identifying simple pulleys in everyday life. Here the children are working together in groups to investigate how they might go about making a simple pulley using basic materials such as coat hangers, sting and toilet rolls.
Boys and Girls here are some maths problems that you might be able to figure out...... Just write them out on a piece of paper and bring it in when you have them all answers! Don't forget I want to see the WHOLE sum not just your answer so show me how you got the answers :)

A nurse starts work on the 1st of March. She works 5 days and rests for 5 days all the month. For how many days does she rest between the 1st and 31st of March? 3. Orla buys a bottle of water for $1.75 and a bar of chocolate for 98c. How much does the bottle of water and chocolate cost altogether? If she gave the cashier $5 how much change will she get? 4. On Saturday 346 planes departed Dublin airport. On Sunday 110 less plans departed the airport than on Saturday. How many planes departed on Sunday? 5. Magic number ....... I am two numbers. The sum of my numbers in 15. The difference between my numbers is 3. What am I? Over the past few weeks Ms Fleming's class have been learning how to cook! We have had great fun baking delicious treats and eating them. All the boys and girls have been working hard writing their own cook books! A word we used a lot when we were baking and writing was dissolve. We did an experiment based on dissolving in hot and cold water ..... we found out that not all materials dissolve in water some fully dissolve, some partially dissolve and some do not dissolve at all!
