Dear Junior Infants,
We have been enjoying the lovely weather and playing outside after we get our school work done! We are enjoying lots of walks and movie nights but miss seeing all our friends and going to school. I hope you’re all keeping well and using those fantastic imaginations when playing, so Mam & Dad can get their work done too. We miss you!
Thanks to everyone who has sent in their postcard-size 'I am' poster for our whole-school art project. For anyone who hasn't, there's a box inside the school porch or else you can send it to c19parentsupport@newtownprimary.ie. We can't wait to see your artwork! Have a look at the website home page for more details.
Love

Hi to all my super-duper Junior Infants,
I have been thinking about you all and miss each one of you. It’s sad that we don’t get to go on a real school tour this year, but instead we're doing a 'virtual school tour' this week. Let’s also take this week to be thankful for the nice times we had together and the friendships that were made. I hope you enjoy looking back at our fun class photos that I took before March: http://www.newtownprimary.ie/junior-infants---ms-leahy-2019-2020
What were your favourite things to do in school? I miss saying ‘hello’ to each one of you as you come in in the mornings (some big sleepy heads!), I also loved doing our news-time in a little circle at the board and I know how you guys looked forward to Aistear each day! I send you the warmest wishes and *virtual hugs*… can you spot a familiar face in my photo?
There are loads of more lovely ideas in 'Extra Activities' and 'Outdoor activities' part of the website this week. We especially loved the 'screen-free camping'; there are such lovely ideas to do as a family and I think this activity would be fun for everyone and would help make precious memories together. http://www.newtownprimary.ie/outdoor-activities
I saw Alex a few weeks ago when I was out for a walk and he looked happy and healthy with his sisters, I was delighted to see you Alex!!
Love from Ms. Leahy
P.S. We know there are a few children and parents who may like to continue with the pre-cursive writing and phonics reading, so we’ll attached the sheets but this won't be part of the plans this week. You have all been working as hard as you can until now, so well done! You’re all doing an amazing job… Mum and Dads too! 😊
