We have had a very busy and fun month, from practicing our Christmas play, to seeing what our elf has done each morning, and learning about Christmas and advent too!
This month in Aistear we explored the Post Office, and what happens to our letters and cards once they get sent in the post. We had fun playing in the post office role play area, with our train set delivering post around the country, building a post office out of lego and playing games to practice our turn taking.
We also went on a Winter Walk, and posted Christmas cards to our families. We got all see the post office and each post our own letters. We then bumped into a singing Santa, and then finished our walk with a visit to the woods.
During our last week of school we explored Santas Workshop during aistear. We had great fun doing this! We were Santa's elves down in the role play area building and wrapping the toys for the good boys and girls. We explored the night of Christmas eve in small world with the doll houses and our Christmas characters. We built Santa's workshop out of lego, and built Santa's sleigh from sticky bricks.
Our mischievous elf got up to all sorts of the month of December! one morning he put toilet paper all over the classroom, another he he wrapped our desks in wrapping paper!
We also had a visit from Santa, which was a very exciting day in our class as we could see him arriving from our class window!
December was a lovely and fun filled month in class, looking forward to what's to come in 2021!
