Hello Second class,
I hope this letter finds you well and that you had a lovely Christmas! I hope Santa brought you what you wanted and I cannot wait to hear all your news!
I’m sure, like me, you are missing school and I just wanted to let you know I am proud of you all!
It is really hard not being able to see your friends and some members of your family, but it is very important that we continue to follow the HSE guidelines by staying at home. I know you are doing a great job! I just wanted to check in with you and let you know that I am thinking about you and hoping that you are ‘being the best you can be’ at home.
I wanted to show you a picture of our hyacinth bulb. Look what happened to it over the Christmas break! Perhaps, our cheeky Elfie had something to do with this!
Please continue to wash your hands carefully, just like we do in school. Don’t forget to catch your sneezes and coughs in tissues and dispose of them. If you have no tissue, then the crook of your elbow is the next best thing.
I’m sure you’ve played outside in the snow and I can picture some of you dancing round your gardens! Do you remember our ‘12 Days of Christmas’ dance? That was so much fun! Whatever you are doing, try to have busy times during your day. Start each day with a reason to be grateful and continue to be kind to your parents or siblings, just like we do to everyone in our school. Don’t forget to exercise and sing (we all missed singing so much this year in school, but luckily we can sing at home).
I will be uploading some school work for you to do at home. I will also be checking in with all of you every morning on Google Classroom and I will explain the work for the day on this (and we shall have some fun too).
I look forward to hearing your news, doing ‘Show and Tell’ and seeing all of your lovely faces again, even if it isn’t in the classroom! If you are finding the work tricky, let someone know. They can contact me and I will try my very best to help you. You can make contact with me through my school email: hquinn@newtownprimary.ie. You can email me any completed work and I can post it here on our Class blog page!
We don’t know yet when we will be back to school, but I can’t wait to see you all in the classroom again! Remember our second class motto….’teamwork makes the dream work’ so if we all do our little bit, the job gets done! Keep it up!
Stay safe,
Miss Quinn
