Dublin Zoo Poem by Lauren I went to the zoo on a cold day But it didn’t take the fun away I felt a breeze on my knees I went to see the chimpanzee I saw a girl with some bows She was looking at the hippos I met some red pandas in a tree I also met some funny monkeys I saw some cute owls get fed They had only just gotten out of bed I went to the turtle enclosure They were very cute for sure The baby birds were singing loud The parents seemed very proud And as my day came to an end I went to see my giraffe friend | Poem - Dublin Zoo by Sam Today is the day we go on our tour At the Zoo there is so much to do Green trees, animals flying around What glorious sites can we see and be found I see gorillas their black and their hairy They make noise that can seem quiet scary But they’re just having fun, playing in the sun They are funny and all love to run Elephants we see are in herds They eat grass and leaves not birds!! They shower with their trunks After some muddy fun They are all together as one Now my time is up we have to go home It’s been a fabulous day seeing animals all day I’ll remember them all because I had a ball My trip to the Zoo I’ll remember it all |
Lauren and Sam in 5th Class were inspired to write some poetry after their 'visit' to Dublin Zoo.10/6/2020
