Maidin maith gach duine! Conas atá sibh ar maidin? Tá sé fliuch anseo i Guaire ar maidin, ach is bréa liom fearthainne na Samhraidh. Tá sé go deas bog agus is féidir linn rudaí difriúla a dhéanamh ar lá fliuch.Tá dioscó ar siúil anois in mo seomra suite!!

Good morning everyone! How are you all this morning? It's raining here in Gorey this morning but I like the summer rain. It's lovely and soft and we get to do different things on a wet day. There is a disco happening in my sitting room at the moment! Also, the garden looks great after a summer shower!

So how has sports week being going for ye? Which of the activities did you try out or like best? I would love to know. Today is a good day to bring some of the activities indoors. We are going to do some Cosmic Yoga, which I love, and make an indoor obstacle course....my boys love moving everything and anything around to make dens so I bet they will come up with some good ideas for an abstacle course. Then we will try the aiming challenge from Wednesday because we can do that in the hallway of the house.....Busy day ahead! It always feels nice to get the body moving and these look like fun too so will help to keep everyone in good moods, which we need on a rainy day!!

Did any of you start a new hobby or project while off school? Remember I was telling you that I started to learn how to crochet. Well I am really happy with how its going. I made ALOT of mistakes and had to restart many many times. There were a few times I lost my patience and got so frustrated with the mistakes that I would have to put it away for a day or two and come back to it again.  However, it looks like I am making progress and I think I will be able to make a blanket out of what I have done. I am so delighted to be able to use up bits and pieces of wool I had stuck in bags in cupboards gathering dust and make something lovely out of them! Sticking at it, even when I found it hard has paid off and now I can see such possibilities to make beautiful things from the new skill I learned. It is also a lovely way to relax and be mindful so a nice thing to do for my wellbeing.

Can you see the 5 triangles? Usually this flower is all closed up so it's a lovely sight to see it open this morning.

I thought I would share this with you too.....My very talented and creative niece Saoirse has also been looking at her scrap materials boxes at home. She has made these beautiful bags and pillow..Aren't they gorgeous! They would make a beautiful gift for someone as a way to say thanks or just as a little act of kindness.  Are there any leftovers in your house that you can use to get creative and make something else?

It is a little bockedy and far from perfect but I am proud of my first attempts! It can only get better!

Before I bid ye farewell for the weekend, here's a little short poem for the day that's in it with the rain......Imagine all the spiders whose webs get washed away in the rain, but yet out they come each time, and start spinning again so they can catch their flies like 'fly fishermen'. It is a reminder to me to keep getting back up when something knocks you down! Great resilience!

Remember also that Sunday is the longest day of the year. 5000 years ago people celebrated June 21st as the summer solstice, celebrating the power of the sun and its impact on the seasons and growing times for their food. People still celebrate it to this day in various ways around Ireland and the world. After June 21st, the days begin to get a little shorter as we begin to move slowly towards the Winter again. So for now, enjoy the warmer temperatures and long evenings, dip your toes in the sea and get out and about to enjoy the lush green of summer.  Have a lovely weekend and will be in touch again in Monday for our very last week of the 2019/2020 school year!
