Dear Senior Infants,
I hope you are keeping well and staying safe during our school closure. I know it is a strange and confusing time. I also know it is very hard for you to stay at home all the time and to be away from your friends. I am staying at home with my parents in Tipperary. I'm not meeting with any of my friends either, so I know how it feels. I just wanted to check in with you and let you know that I am thinking about you and hoping that you are ‘being the best you can be’ at home.
Keep up your reading and do lots of jobs around the house to be helpful. Get as much exercise as you can (at home) and don’t spend too much time on your tablets or phones! I like to get my school work done in the morning and then I spend the afternoon helping my mother to clean the house and after that I go for a walk. Before I go to bed, I either watch a little bit of T.V or read a book.
I will be sending some school work for you to do at home after Easter. If you are finding it hard, let someone know. They can contact me and I will try my very best to help you. I hope to see some of your lovely work on the ‘Our Work’ page of our school website. I also look forward to reading your news and stories in the ‘Newsletter’ page on the website. Copycat is missing you all, could you write a letter to him, telling him what you have been up to?
We don’t know yet when we will be back to school, but I can’t wait to see you all again. Even though Copycat and I were only with you for two weeks, we really enjoyed getting to know you and teaching the best class In Ireland.
In the meantime, let’s all do our bit to stay safe and healthy – Wash your hands, stay at home and remember the rules of social distancing.
Best wishes,
Ms Darcy
